I think every creative on the planet can tell you a story about how someone; a start-up business, a big business, a self professed entrepreneur or even a close friend has asked them to work for free or for a beer or for ‘more work in the future’. Take note anyone asking for creative services:

“The ill-studio is a French group of collaborators devoted to fine arts. Our goal is to bring ten individuals together, working in various artistic areas such as graphic design, photography, typography, illustration, video, motion design, etc.

The studio provides an environment wherein its member’s complementary influences meet, and contribute to the stimulation and development of the whole, whether the works produced are created collectively, or individually.

The ill-studio is Léonard Vernhet, Thomas Subreville, Nicolas Malinowsky, Thierry Audurand, Sébastien Michelini, Pierre Dixsaut, Harold Urcun, Artus de Lavilléon, David Luraschi and Fred Mortagne.”

Arkitip Magazine Issue 51

Shepard Fairey is featured in the new Arkitip Magazine. Shepard’s ‘Obey’ campaign has been covering walls for 20 years and this issue sees him return to Arkitip for the first time since the third issue!

This limited issue edition, complete with packaging and issue supplement, will be available for individual purchase Summer 2009… so make sure you get your subscription before May 5 to ensure you get this issue!

In addition, Arkitip will celebrate the release of this special issue edition with a Shepard Fairey exhibition in Los Angeles, California. Location, dates and further details are still to be confirmed… will let you know when they’re out.

New Dirrty Glam. Fresh from France.

I can’t read french, but you don’t need to to appreciate the original DIRRTYGLAM, an online mag out of France. They have gone one better (if your french is not that good) and put out an English version. DIRRTYGLAM is full of fresh fashion out of europe and finishes with some nice music from around the globe. Big ups to the DIRRTY team: Alie Suvelor, Alex Kolasinski, Jennifer Pauline, Andre Williams and Marian Kihogu.
