eflyer1

“Graffiti related laws are on the table for debate in Western Australian parliament in August/September 2009.

The current government hopes to introduce laws that will make it illegal for stores to sell ‘graffiti tools’ to people under the age of 18. You can access the full bill here: www.parliament.wa.gov.au

If this effects you, its time to have your say and be part of the debate.”

Bamboo Bike Studio

The Bamboo Bike Studio was founded to harness the possibility and promise of self-propulsion, reaching out from New York City to developing nations around the world, beginning with Ghana and Kenya in Africa.

Based in Red Hook, Brooklyn NY, the Bamboo Bike Studio teaches students to build their own bikes out of one of the worlds fastest growing resources – bamboo. By teaching students to build their own bicycles, from scratch, Bamboo Bike Studio helps establish an active, self-invested relationship between person and product… something I believe has been completely lost in our worlds consumer mentallity. Each bike-building course extends beyond the walls of the Studio, generating the engineering, teaching, and funding capital needed to establish scalable bamboo bike factories in developing countries worldwide.

Yes Men Crash BMW Gala… and fix the world

Get the full lowdown about this protest here.

Apart from seeing things for what they really are and not compromising on morals for the sake of glamour… (”Although BMW does have an electric car, most of their business is in phallus-enhancing gas guzzlers. The acquisition of petroleum that is used in BMW’s cars has been identified as the source of ongoing wars in several parts of the world, making them an unlikely sponsor of an event calling for peace.”) … The Yes Men were in Berlin to promote their new film The Yes Men Fix The World, they won the audience award at the Berlin International FIlm Festival. I’ll be trying to get my see this as soon as possible.
