Security cameras are main object of the modern cities. It may not suitable for the privacy but the privacy is not important for some security issues in areas that may need monitoring such as banks, airports, military zones, and big stores etc.

“What began as a small hobby for New York-based designer, Sandee Shin, exploded into an entire line of avant-garde jewelry. Armor Jewelry is an arsenal of high fashion jewelry that dances between understated minimalism and the highly conceptual edge of fashion.
Launching in 2009, each piece of the collection is a unique sculpture for the body that reflects the lifestyles of those who aren’t afraid to push boundaries. Armor Jewelry is a hybrid of soft, subtle draping and a mix of sexy chain materials. Each metal chain texture is carefully chosen to reflect the concept and design of the final product. Materials are then deconstructed and reconfigured to create silhouettes that effortlessly add edge and elegance to any outfit. Each piece can hold it’s own with a simple white tee or be a crowning piece over a gown.
Shin’s background in performance art and design influences her choices in texture and draping. Every jewelry design is a personal work of art for Shin, and every piece is made-to-order and hand crafted with attention to every detail.”
The Qallery is in essence a new take on an urban gallery. It aims to encourage viewers to embrace the technology at their fingertips and explore and learn about new artists. QR codes will be pasted up throughout laneways and along the street, snap a shot and find yourself at the QR gallery!
Further details
QR codes will be pasted up as the ‘art’ in the outdoor setting. Once users shoot the codes on their phones they will then be directed to the qallery web site where the images can be viewed, detailed and downloaded. Launched at the 2011 Beaufort Street Festival, The Qallery will continue indefinitely encouraging artists from here, there and anywhere to get involved!
Artist callout
The Qallery would love you to submit a piece of work – newly designed or one from the vault.

“The Thule brand was established in Sweden in 1942. Thule is a premium brand used globally for a wide assortment of products with a focus on solving the problem of how to bring equipment with you when using a car (roof racks, bike and water sport carriers, roof boxes). There are also other product areas such as accessories for recreational vehicles, trailers for active life (horses, boats, etc), snow chains and luggage.”
It’s the luggage that I think is slick. Well thought out and functional, without sacrificing style.
“ARCHIZINES is a showcase of new fanzines, journals and magazines from around the world that provide an alternative discourse to the established architectural press. Launched by Elias Redstone, with art direction by Folch Studio, the project celebrates and promotes publishing as an arena for architectural commentary, criticism and research, and as a creative platform for new photography, illustration and design.”

“Jan Gunneweg stands out as an industrial designer not only with his unique and daring designs, but also because of his technical skill. The combination makes his creations stylish and special but also – and this is equally important – very practical and exceptionally user-friendly.
His traditional background and love for wood leave their mark on all his creations. You might expect wood to result in cumbersome and unwieldy designs.
But nothing could be less true. Jan Gunneweg’s creations are elegant and designed with style.”
Máximo Riera has been a practicing artist for over thirty years. Whilst predominantly working in photography, painting and sculpture, he has also published a collection of poetry. Inspired by his travel and experiences through Europe and the Caribbean Islands, Máximo’s vibrant use of colour and evocative attention to detail have been an inspiration which convey the meaning of his creations. His work also demonstrates a predominant influence from abstract expressionism and the Pop Art movements.

“The concept behind this video is to show Conan O’Brien as a the monumental entertainer and solid wall that he is. Conan O’Brien is and will continue to be a seasoned television entertainer. After drawing inspiration from Lou Dorfsman’s Gastro typographical assemblage, this concept was achieved by creating a literal wall from over 60 individual typographic layouts. These custom crafted layouts reference a variety of eclectic type design. The combination of eclectic typography and modern 3D letter forms achieved in Cinema 4D provides a contrast between old and new. This contrast emphasizes time to create a sturdy and timeless object. This solidity and timelessness is the perfect representation of Conan O’Brien.”
